Oakland University
Macomb County has been integral to Oakland University’s (OU) growth and success since our founding in 1957. In 1991, OU strengthened its commitment to the County by becoming one of the original partner schools at ºÚÁϳԹϒs newly established University Center (UC).
OU welcomes more than 1,000 transfer students each year, and enrollment is growing; it has the largest enrollment among the UC partner schools. Each year, more than 500 OU students take courses in Macomb County.
OU has eliminated limits on transfer credit from community colleges. However, students must complete at least 45 credits at OU to graduate. (Some formal program-to-program articulation agreements may modify this requirement. See the specific agreements for details.) Students planning to transfer at least 60 credits from a community college should consult an adviser in their major's unit to determine the best way to complete their remaining degree requirements and maximize their transferable credits.
Contact our office to schedule an appointment with an academic adviser for a seamless path from Macomb to OU.
